more reality

more on the imperial legacy of dub bush ...

22 December 2011

reality

laudable sentiment but the real imperial legacy of dub bush is the completion of the destruction of the middle class started by the ronnie and the rayguns administration. a special shout out to their pet banker, a.grimspam, the worst central banker ever.

the lawless invasion of iraq is a mere side note to bush criminality.

nice picture ....

via mark thoma, a picture of health. healthcare costs, actually. notice the long orange bar, almost 1/3rd taller than all before it. that's your healthcare, folks.

wonder where all that money is going? sure isn't going into making you healthier: outcomes in the u.s. are fair to middling. probably the same place as your 401(k): into the pocket of some thieving ceo ....

15 December 2011

it's not that ....

so much for heated ....

disabled time machine before going to the office. did no good: the cpu was 76°c and the fan was roaring along at 4700rpm. the windowserver process was grinding away at 17%. wtf?
macBottle$ uptime
 7:56 up 3 days, 26 mins, 2 users, load averages: 0.65 0.60 0.58
rebooted ....

don't buy an i7core-equipped macbook air. sux.

08 December 2011

heated

it's still overheating. this morning, i'd not been in the office for more than an hour when the fan of my i7core macbook air started roaring. sandbagged it ....

so what's different at the office?

no access to the backup disk time machine uses.

anything else?

nope.

wonder if this guess is correct. will the appletards figure it out? and will they ever fix it?

correlation

digital (no)rights management

i knew i was going to regret this.

the propellerhead twonks released the latest version of reason, combining their unwanted record app and requiring an "ignition key" usb dongle. the dongle comes from some kraut morons and includes an app called codemeter.

of course, codemeter is as nasty and draconian as expected. it starts a daemon from launchd that listens on port 22350 for local connections.

this fills the system log with firewall messages.

can you open port 22350 with the osx firewall? of course not. all part of apple's dumbing down their o/s to attract fondleslab users.

the best bit is the codemeter app. on my machine(s), it runs auf deutsch. and can you switch languages to something you understand? ha!

17 November 2011

we thought they were kidding ....

hyperventilating hippies were always on about the nasty fascist state just around the corner. funny how it's now here. the 1% have won. the pigs are their private 911 militias. democracy, eh?

continued #applefail

the latest bullshit from cupertino is my imac keeps trying to access the remote disk in my time capsule since the upgrade to 10.7.2 (it's possible the guilty party is airport release 7.6 but i'm pretty sure this annoying behaviour was happening before i upgraded the time capsule - regardless, it's also apple code).

the time capsule is only used as my itunes library - a network attached storage unit. previously, if itunes wasn't running on the imac, the disk in the time capsule would spin down and the unit would sleep. now it gets awakened every five minutes with an "afpfs_DoReconnect" request.

by the way, the itunes library is shared but no other machines were using it when i was really bothered by this annoying behaviour. filed 10454739. (didn't realize that by upgrading my apple products i was volunteering to do their smegging q/a ....)

chinese goons

really don't get this: how many chinese punters would understand a goon show snippet?

it's not just the battery ....

but thanks appletards ....

31 October 2011

apple sux shit

it's the new ritual: after a couple of days, my i7core macbook air starts overheating and running its fans at full tilt. there's nothing obvious running. its cpu reports mostly idle. only solution is to reboot the piece of shit.

i used to be really impressed with apple gear. not any more. this fucked up macbook, the disaster that is ios5, the crap that is lion ...

APPLE SUX

30 October 2011

speaking of appletards

i can no longer access bugreport.apple.com with my user account.
i suspect some appletard anus locked me out because i kept adding crash report after crash report after crash report after crash report from the fucking music player on my ipod.

dicks!

29 October 2011

occupy

don't touch that dial!

a nation of vidiots more or less sums up this benighted land. too late for us, eh?

27 October 2011

still not ready

we're at not ready for primetime4. this morning, took the extreme measure of writing the chief executive officer. doubt that it'll have any effect but ....

24 October 2011

and continues ....

still unready for primetime3. restored ipod again. music~iphone still crashes. still a piece of shit. more crash logs will be appended to 10292857 (so far, the appletards have not responded to the bug report) ....

20 October 2011

it gets worse ....

unready for primetime2. now music~iphone crashes every time. what a piece of shit. more crash logs will be appended to 10292857.

18 October 2011

not ready for primetime

did the appletards push out ios5 before it was properly baked? fucking right they did!

that makes two #fails: lion sux. so does ios5.

so what's my complaint?

how about the music player taking over a minute to start-up, then crashing? or crashing when you switch to the "cover flow" view? or failing to download and/or display the covers you definitely have in your library?

how about cover flow stuttering like a spastic monk? the music player's does. so do certain third party apps that deemed to use it.

none of this moaning is about new features, some of which may be laudable. it's about existing features the appletards busted.

that's two. the appletards are getting more like ballmer's thugs each release ....

07 October 2011

failed state, part 2

makes me feel so secure: there are keylogger viruses running on america's killer robots. so when is some botnet going to wrest control of one of these robots and attack the so-called good guys with it? you really have to wonder what moron thought it was a good idea to run windows, the world's most secure o/s, on a killer robot.

06 October 2011

failed state

this is from the morons responsible for educating my spawn. click on the image to see how well they spell. their illiteracy plus their usage of the most annoying robocall technology ....

more pigs

on the theme of rampaging pigs what's with the military running around cupertino? since when does a crime—even a shooting—call for an army? the militarisation of the police in this benighted nation is really quite ugly not to mention alarming.

01 October 2011

rampaging pig

who is "officer" bologna (other than a really nasty type of sausage) and why is he being allowed to run around macing non-violent protesters? why isn't this arsehole of a pig in jail?

you do have to admit this particular pig is appropriately named .....

28 September 2011

further proof

hey geeks: nothing like a reliable backup, is there? not from fucking apple there ain't. in yet another lion#fail, time machine decided the network backups are "not reliable" and insisted on starting again.

well tested, appletards!

26 September 2011

23 September 2011

state murder

they killed a man who was found guilty on very dubious terms because "he has had ample time to prove his innocence." that's american justice.

20 September 2011

a true patriot

funny that the repuglicants claim promoting the foreign policy aims of another nation is considered treason. unless it's the foreign policy aims of the likud party, eh?

the texarse moron seems to have forgotten that he's not an isreali citizen.

13 September 2011

"dimocrud" is too kind

these people want to manage the finances of the entire country and yet they get scammed by someone with such a dubious track record? no wonder we're in such deep shit!

11 September 2011

seconded

how can i second this motion when prof krugman has turned off the comments to keep the disgusting trolls away? regardless, i second it (along with probably/hopefully many others).

08 September 2011

a micro$lop moment

lion is a piece of shit. not only is it really poorly designed but the implementation is more redmondWA than cupertino.

latest fuck-up: app store said i have some updates. okay. tried to install them. said i had to sign-in with the apple id that purchased the apps. i only have one apple id. signed-in. tried to install them. said i had to sign-in with the apple id that purchased the apps ....

played this game with the itunes app store a while ago. it was a back-end database fuck-up that involved sitting on the phone to apple support for an hour or so while some dba kicked the back-end back into operation.

this one appears to be a spotlight fuck-up. wiped its databases and waiting for it to rebuild (whilst it cooks the cpu).

here's betting it doesn't fix the problem.

UPDATE: wrong. fixed it. had to reboot the machine, however, which bites.

07 September 2011

yahoo!always!classy!

16 August 2011

how dare they fix the economy!

the latest repuglicant moron from texarse weighs in ....

notabene: it's "treasonous" because a decent recovery would put the kibosh on this moron's chances at imposing his religious brainlessness from the whitehouse. how dare they!?!

lion sucks

dunno what's with apple but their taste seems to have been sourced from their corporate anus of late. first there's their retarded new campus. then the repulsive chrome (and commiserate reduction in capability) of ical and address book. plus they've busted a bunch of other things.

so why did they have to change the location of the itunes library?

arseholes!

02 August 2011

have a banana

fabulous: not that there was any doubt but the untied snakes is now officially a banana republic. the idiot in the whitehouse should just hand over the keys to one of the dimwitted repuglitards in the house—this moron from texarse would be a good choice—and get the fuck outta here.

maybe go back to studying constitutional law. that'd be appropriate.

updated: greenwald says this "deal" was by choice, an even more depressing conclusion but one that's probably spot on accurate.

01 August 2011

defund the department of homeland security

not a chance of that. given what brave free people the teatards are, the tsa is safe ....

28 July 2011

garmin sucks

you'd think i'd have learned from the nightmare of the five and counting forerunner405 gps watches i've endured but no, i bought another garmin product. an edge500 bike computer.

took it for a ride this morning. this is the result.

this evening, i went to reset its defaults—why auto-laps are on is something only the fuckwit designers at garmin can explain. i was prompted to update its firmware. should have known better but okay. downloaded their webupdater. followed the instructions, disconnecting the device when prompted.

it bricked.

brand-fucking-new and it's bricked.

27 July 2011

apple fun

i've got a brand new macbook air, yes? apple includes its ilife app suite with new machines. okay fine, don't use 'em, but okay.

started up the app store cuz i wanted to install some apps i already bought.

it prompted me to update the ilife apps. okay fine, tried that. it says it can't update them because i have to purchase them.

eh?

called apple support and was told, yeah, i have to purchase them (again) to update them.

dragged the apps into the trash. app store no longer prompts me to update them.

unimpressive example of apple's droids thinking outside of the box. sorta like when the damned moggy does the same ....

22 July 2011

switch parties

as he's essentially repuglicant lite, the wonder boy prez should just switch parties. that'd cure the tribalism that otherwise forgives all his bush/cheney transgressions ...

plus the faux snooze party could embrace him as their very own as other than party affiliation, he is.

12 July 2011

so progressive ....

apparently calvinball is popular in chicago. and by strange coincidence, isn't that where the wonder boy prez comes from? no wait, it's kenya, innit?

09 July 2011

08 July 2011

02 July 2011

now the modern repuglicant says exactly that ....

the late peter cook via krugman
